Umpiring at Richmond Baseball
Calling all Umpires!
As of 2026, BBF regulations require all home games to be officiated by a Level 6 BBF trained umpire.
This is free training available to BBF registered members.
As an incentive, Richmond Baseball club will offer remuneration for your services behind the plate at £20 per officiated game .
This is only applicable for home games at Connare or Flood field. You do not have to be rostered to the same team you are umping for, nor are you limited on how often you ump.
To be able to Participate, you must:
Be registered with the club.
Have completed Level 6 BBF Training (Details Found at the bottom of the page)

Richmond Policy on Umpiring
For home games, managers of Richmond must ensure there is an umpire for the game.
The umpire must be:
A BBF accredited umpire (Level 6)
All umpires must wear full protection and set up behind the catcher. Umpires are not allowed to call balls and strikes from behind the pitcher.
If teams wish to have a BBF Umpire or an independent umpire who is not affiliated with Richmond Baseball, the club will pay £20 towards each game, with the rest covered by the teams players. BBF Assigned Umpires charge £105 per game.
