Richmond Baseball Awards

Richmond Baseball Club is passionate about celebrating individual success every year once the season draws to an end.  Each award is handed out to a selection of players from each of our 4 teams - based on their fellow team members and managers votes.

CY Young

Named after the incredible man himself, the Cy Young is the ultimate pitchers dream of winning. This goes to the best pitcher in the team in regards to ERA, Strikeouts and many other atriubutes.

Batting Champion

This is all down to the statistics, and we are not only looking at who left the yard the most. The player with highest batting average on the team gets to take this award home.

MVP

This goes to the player deemed most valuable to the each team. This is across all aspects such as hitting, fielding, pitching and leadership skills, number of games played, general character, disposition, loyalty and effort.

Rookie of the year

This is a club wide achievement and goes to the best performing player new to the club. You can be a rusty veteran claiming back their youth or picking a ball up for the first time, if you are new to the club, you could be in for this award.

Gold Glove

The gold glove goes to the best overall fielder in each team. This can be from consistently fielding correctly routine groundballs to making the unbelievable game winning rob out in center field.

The Player's player is the all-round team member who exemplifies a great player in all aspects, putting the team and sportsmanship first.
